There are children everywhere in Ghana. I can’t imagine that a Ghanaian child gets lonely very easily. Siblings take care of their younger siblings; groups of friends walk and play together; parents looks after their children, neighbors look after their neighbors.
It is true that compared to many American kids, Ghanaian kids don’t seem to have much material wealth. But it is also true that from my observation, Ghanaian kids seem to smile a lot more often and have more friends than American kids. Maybe if you have lots of good friends, you don’t need lots of toys.
